Glamour Kaleidoscope Special Gems, Freeze & Bombs
Read the board modifiers each heroine creates—then spend COMBO windows on purpose.
Beyond ordinary gems
Base Glamour Kaleidoscope combat is adjacent same-color groups of three or more under a timer (Match-3 Mechanics). Heroine skills and shop tools inject special pieces and hazards that change how COMBO damage reaches clothing thresholds. This page is a board grammar guide—not a spoiler skill spreadsheet with invented percentages.
Talismans (Shion-forward)
Shion converts board positions into talisman pieces and scales attack with how many stay in play. Habits:
- Count talismans before dumping a finishing COMBO
- Avoid panic clears that delete your own setup
- Treat talisman turns as tempo puzzles, not pure deletion races
Talisman logic trains the same patience you need for freeze windows on later routes.
Freeze pieces (Ellie / Yui)
Freeze tools slow or lock parts of the board. Ellie pairs freeze with bombs; Yui amplifies damage from freeze count and carries the sharpest attack panel.
Habits:
- Do not ignore a freeze setup to mash random threes
- Spend potions when freeze disruptions keep collapsing near-threshold boards
- Lower difficulty if freezes make the timer unreadable
Bombs
Bombs delete chunks and spike damage when they land inside a healthy COMBO. Ellie’s thick HP pool means wasted bombs turn fights into attrition. Hold bomb payoffs for COMBO peaks when you can read them—see Combo Tips.
Negative / awkward gems
Public shop notes describe consumables that clear awkward negative gems after nasty heroine turns (Shop). Treat these as board cleaners, not permanent DPS upgrades. Buy them when disruptions—not raw skill—are your failure mode.
Heroine turn as a hazard phase
On the enemy turn, skills can:
- Spawn special gems
- Scramble colors
- Damage your HP
- Punish short COMBO chains
Read the three skills on the Data card before the fight (Skills). The gem rules stay shared; the hazard package is what makes routes feel different.
Permanents vs consumables vs board state
| Layer | Role |
|---|---|
| Permanents | Long-term ATK/HP/recovery/chain-time style help |
| Consumable heals | Session saves near thresholds |
| Board cleaners | Remove bad gems after skills |
| Special gems on board | Temporary state you play around this fight |
Do not confuse a talisman you just created with a shop permanent you bought last hour.
Practice drills
- Replay a Shion fight focusing only on talisman count.
- Replay an Ellie fight focusing only on freeze → bomb timing.
- Replay a Yui fight focusing only on freeze amplify windows.
- Use free Battle mode if available so Story pressure stays low.
- Log failure modes with the Match Planner mindset.
Comfort tools when boards go noisy
Special gems plus Adult Live2D presentation can overload attention. Enable one-hand mode, slow speed, or drop difficulty (Controls). Readable boards beat stylish failures.

Special gems are the dialect of each heroine. Learn the dialect, then the clothing threshold becomes a conversation instead of a coin flip.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Are special gems the same as shop permanents?
No. Special gems are board-state pieces created during fights. Permanents are lasting upgrades purchased in the shop.
Which heroine teaches special gems best first?
Shion’s talismans are a clear first lesson. Ellie and Yui then add freeze/bomb pressure.
What clears negative gems?
Shop board-cleaner consumables (names vary by language). Buy them when disruptions—not raw DPS—are failing you.
Do freezes change clothing thresholds?
Indirectly. Freeze tools change how you build COMBO damage; thresholds still care about damage dealt in time.
Where do I see exact skill numbers?
On each heroine’s in-game Data/skill card. This wiki explains roles without inventing percentage tables.
